Mathopen school

 La escuela Mathopen está situada en un barrio muy distinto a La escuela Hellen. Es un barrio de casitas pequeñas junto a un fiordo y un entorno muy agradable. 

Anne Myhrvold es la directora, una persona muy agradable que se ha interesado en llevarme en su coche al colegio y hemos aprovechado el viaja para hablar sobre el proyecto ERASMUS y conocernos. Parece que es una gran líder pedagógica muy segura del trabajo que hace. Lo primero que hacemos es reunirnos con el resto del equipo directivo para hablar sobre el proyecto y para darme a conocer su escuela. También hemos hablado sobre diferencias en nuestros sistemas educativos.

Me invitan a visitar la clase  de Alexandra en cuarto grado. Al entrar hago una pequeña asamblea con los niños y niñas de la clase para contarle cosas de España y presentarme. Hacen siempre una asamblea junto a la pizarra digital antes de empezar a hacer la tarea. El alumnado trabaja siempre en grupo interactuando y nadie interrumpe. Tienen muy claras las rutinas. Igualmente tienen dos descansos, uno de una hora para el “lunch” y salir al patio. Alexandra utiliza mucho los juegos con movimiento y hablamos sobre las evidencias que hay al respecto en el aprendizaje. 

Se observan muchas diferencias en cómo gestionan la convivencia. Mañana tendré una nueva entrevista con el equipo directivo para tratar muchos asuntos interesantes.

Mathopen School is located in a very different neighborhood than Hellen School. It is a neighborhood of small houses next to a fjord and a very pleasant environment. Anne Myhrvold is the director, a very nice person who has been interested in taking me to school in her car and we have taken advantage of the trip to talk about the ERASMUS project and get to know each other. It seems that she is a great pedagogical leader very sure of the work she does. The first thing we do is meet with the rest of the management team to talk about the project and to introduce me to their school. We have also talked about differences in our educational systems. I am invited to visit Alexandra's class in fourth grade. Upon entering I make a small assembly with the boys and girls in the class to tell them about Spain and introduce myself. They always make an assembly next to the digital whiteboard before starting to do the task. The students always work in groups interacting and no one interrupts. They have very clear routines. They also have two breaks, one of one hour for "lunch" and go out to the patio. Alexandra uses movement games a lot and we talked about the evidence for this in learning. Many differences are observed in how they manage coexistence. Tomorrow I will have a new interview with the management team to discuss many interesting issues.
